My 2010 Wrangler with 170k miles was having intermittent phantom electrical issues. Since having those professionally diagnosed can get really expensive in a hurry, I decided to replace the battery and alternator since they were really old. When this didn't fix the issue, I went to the internet in search of a solution. Since my ignition switch also seemed to be not working as smoothly as usual, this seemed to be the culprit. Since it was an inexpensive part, I just ordered one and thought I'd try it out. The replacement only took about about 45 minutes and was a swear free process. Everything now works perfectly! If you're on the fence about whether or not you have the skills to do this repair, just watch one of the youtube videos out there. If you have the basic tools and a bit of patience, you can do it and save a ton of money. Very rewarding to fix your own stuff.
