Works just like I wanted as a temporary door holder, but it won't hold in a strong wide; it wasn't designed for it, so don't expect it too. Easy to install, but the mounting holes holes are wider than the ones for the plastic retainer I was replacing. HINT: And since I am using the same holes as the plastic retainer, the bend on the "male" piece of this unit did not line-up exactly with the female piece, an easy fix, I put the male piece in my vice and using the closed end of a combination wrench I bent the rod to the desired angle so it works perfectly. So, this part does have some adjustability.
