I replaced this in my 1997, base model. I was having trouble with my power windows and tracked it back to this switch. It took about 30 minutes to replace it. Just make sure to have a VERY short Phillips head screwdriver. I think Mazda hired former sumo wrestlers to torque down some of their fasteners in Hiroshima.
