I recently switched to an aluminum RaceFace Evolve bar after riding a Sette Carbon Fiber bar for 13 years and was showing signs of wear. My CF bar was great and I loved the new Evolve, but my hands would tingle and go numb after riding six miles on the Evovle. I didn’t want to drop $180 on the latest carbon fiber bar for my 13 year old Trek Fuel EX and was so pleased to find this Answer Carbon SL bar for $49. A put this Answer Carbon SL bar on the bike and rode 11 miles with no tingles or numbness. I never realized how much carbon fiber deadens vibrations to your hands. The absorpstion of trail vibrations does take a bit of the energetic spirit out of the bike feel, but definitely worth it to enjoy tingle free riding.I’m 6’2” and have a ride weight of 230 lbs and ride cross country/trial with occasional all mountain. I just purchased another Answer Carbon SL, this one will be for my wife’s 2016 Trek Lush S.Have used this design for years. The bit of rise throughout the full length seems to take some strain off the wrists and outer edge of the hands and seems to make it a lot easier to loft the front or jump the bike. I have the same bar on my Santa Cruz highball 29, Superlight 29, and single speed Vasago Jabberwocky 29.Great XC bars. Slightly lighter than Aluminum and more comfortable.
