At first this had a strong smell, but I left it in the basement for a week and the smell went away. Works really great! Can pack a lot of items (e.g., groceries, computer, purse, bottled water jugs, etc) into the cart and then pull it up the stairwell with more ease than I thought. The cart material is very sturdy. The wheel system works well with the carpeted steps, which are in different shapes and sizes due to the "U" shape stairwell. I use it mostly for transporting items up the steps vs down. Is harder for me physically to use for going down the steps if it has heavy items. The padded handle is a very nice touch. It has several nice features. It also rolls easily across the floor and stands easily full or empty. It has never tipped over or leaned in any direction. On its own, it is surprisingly light weight. It handles easily. I use it inside of the house only, so I cannot speak to outside use. I would recommend this product to someone who is mobile and has the strength to pull the cart up the steps when it is full. The wheel design keeps it from pulling away from you as you are going up the steps so that is not a problem, but it does take some effort to pull the cart up from step to step. If there was ONE improvement I would recommend, that would be for the handles to be longer. The handles are almost too short, requiring more bending forward when pulling it up the steps. If the handles were adjustable to allow a couple more length, it would provide greater ease of use.
