I have had a Jeanie Rub massager for 24 years and it held up all that time. My mom had hers for 23 years and it finally broke. I think mine is getting ready to give out so I bought a new one because I love it and do not want to live without it. The new one has variable speed and has more power options. The new one is also quieter. I have foot issues and could barely walk and the only shoes I can wear are my crocs and this massager has been miraculous in improving my feet. Before I was using it on my feet I was starting to worry that I would no longer be able to work, but this has made the burning pain go away. I also have carpal tunnel syndrome and this works amazing at helping heal the flare ups if I use it multiple times a day and/or many days in a row. I find that the optimal improvements from use come from using it while laying in bed just before going to sleep so it has increased circulation to the problem area and then allows for faster healing. I use it on the same problem area until it has stopped hurting and becomes numb and then I can really feel the blood pumping to the area. I use this massager now on any area that is sore or inflamed and when I fell and injured my knee cap I ran it immediately on my knee and had no aching or soreness that I have had in the past with similar injury. Also, I had bursitis in my shoulder and it helped with that and my hip when I pulled my hip out of the hip socket. It works for everything! I am a firm believer in the amazing power of massage and it helps keeps you young! This brand of massager is built to last based on the prior ones we had and it is a great product! Yes, when you first start using it it has a smell of oil or grease that is used on its internal parts but that goes away and what do you expect for something built to last it had to be made this way! Also it makes your hands get numb easily at first when using it, but this goes away after several sessions of using the massager. Your hands become immune to the tingle and numbness. The itchy feeling goes away also, this is just from the increased blood flow that your skin is not used to. Also when my son came to me and said something is wrong with his hand and it's been numb and tingly for weeks I said "let me massage your arm multiple times during the day and see what happens" . Within 2 days the problem was gone! He had been really worried and scared about what could be going on and would need a doctor appointment but Jeanie Rub to the rescue! It is a well made sturdy and awesomely useful product and I LOVE IT! No one should be without one and don't be a whiner and say you cant use it on yourself, I can reach almost any part of my back with it if I position it right on the bed and use a pillow to keep it from sliding off the bed! Use it often and generously on any aching body part and it will be the best thing you could do for your body and circulation!?Love this massager. I have chronic back pain and this helps me numb it and sleep better at night.This is powerful yet comfortable. I can reach all the parts of my body I want to massage with this including glutes, legs (front and back; I just use a pair of gloves and hold one side of the handle if massaging the back and move it around - so you don't need a partner if you're strong enough to hold on).It seems gentle yet forceful enough to matter for a good massage. The motor does have a slight hot smell after a few minutes - that gets somewhat better with more use. You don't need much time with this, though, it is a powerful massager. I find it much better than a percussion massager I've also used. I bought the one with the fleece cover. I really like this.Helps relieve pain and tension without a chiropractor! My husband doesn't like the high speed vibration on his hands when using it on me, but using a lower speed helps that. It is heavy - there is no need to apply any additional pressure when using it. It appears to be well-made. Many other reviews stated they have used for 20+ years. I'm looking forward to many of use of use from my Jeanie Rub.OMG, this thing is amazing. It's basically like the professionally ones I've had used on me at physical therapy and the chiropractor's. I definitely recommend getting the fleece covering, definitely worth the small amount of money it costs. The rubbing is intense, but not painful. Even at the highest setting, it's enjoyable. You don't have to worry about hitting your spine, or bones, it doesn't hurt like some massagers do. I wish I had gotten this years ago!
