Like the shape of the toe box. Look good with khakis. For my D width feet they fit snugly and provide excellent arch support.I have purchased 7 other pairs of Finn Comfort shoes over the past 20 years, all different styles. Three are still with me and except for the purchase of the Vaasa that is my 8th purchase, all have been resoled one or more times. They are not only totally comfortable to walk in, they simply refuse to wear out. My shoemaker is shocked at the performance of these shoes as he sees very few customers willing to repair/replace worn soles, especially in these tough Buffalo, NY winters. The leather uppers are as good as brand new even after 5 or more years of wear. I have a high arch, and no other 'off the shelf' shoe has so much support/stability as the Finn Comfort. Additionally, the front of the shoe is characteristically a 'wide' German European size and my toes are not cramped and my feet do not sweat. My size is a 46 (European sizing; about a 12 3/4 or 13 American) and no matter what style shoe I purchase, the size 46 always fits perfectly. This enables me to take advantage of the occasional and rare WEB advertised sales, since retail shoe stores never offer a discount on these highly sought-after shoes. While the cost of these shoes might cause some to reconsider, I have owned several pairs of Finn Comfort Vaasa shoes over the past 15 years (or more). The shoes are comfortable to wear from day one; I have never experienced break-in pain or skin injury from these. The foot bed does not absorb foot odor and dries easily overnight, even if the shoe gets thoroughly wet from being in the rain. When worn daily, the shoes lasted me several years each. As the foot bed liner is cork, it does not "give" like foam-based inserts, and it accommodates prescription orthotics. This means the shoe can be worn for years without "caving" to one side or another as less-expensive shoes are prone to do. They might not be the most fashionable shoe in a line-up, but they polish well and are perfectly acceptable when worn with a suit or casual attire. The toe box is more generous than other shoes, further increasing their comfort for people with wider or sensitive feet.I order a pair of these exact shoes each year when old pair wears out....well, not wear out but no longer support as they should. I don't think you CAN wear out these shoes. (I keep a backup old pair for gardening.) I started wearing these shoes 20 years ago at the advice of my foot doctor. He scared the %($*(& out of me by telling me I will spend the rest of my life in pain if I didn't find proper shoes and to take about an hour getting properly fitted. My feet have not hurt in 20 years! my legs no longer hurt! and most of all, my BACK no longer hurts or feels tired! I thank the Dr. for scaring me to death and I thank Finn Comfort for making such a quality shoe! These were shipped directly from Great Britain and arrived on my doorstep within 2 days!!!I bought a pair several years ago in brown when I was recovering from bad plantar fasciitis in both feet. It has since become my favorite casual shoe. Very comfortable without the need for special insoles or orthotics that I use in my other shoes. Also have a nice simple but slightly funky look. I still wear these and just bought another pair, this time in black.Great for wider feet. Not a lot of cushioning and very light on arch support. Extremely expensive but cheaper than buying thru specialty store. My husband bought a pair of these shoes about 8 years ago in Tucson in a store that has gone out of business. While these shoes are still comfortable, they look really worn. So I searched these German shoes and was delighted to find them on Amazon. My husband is thrilled with them. Perfect fit and very comfortable. Not all finn comfort models are comfortable, I know because I have several, this particular one ( Vaasa ) was a fiasco, I bought it a few months ago for over $ 300, my idea was to use them to work,as an engineer my work involves many hours of standing and walking, after several months I can say with total conviction, brand awareness and experience, that this model is unusually uncomfortable, too wide at the base, too tight on the instep of the foot, definitely a great disappointment, I don't recommend anyone these shoes. 2 stars instead of 1 only because the quality of materials is unquestionably.
