High Precision LCDOWEL Dowel Collet Chuck System for CNC Machines | Woodworking & Metalworking Tools | Ideal for Milling, Drilling & Lathe Operations

I bought this collet chuck set because I needed a better way to turn my game calls. I had been using a 3/4" Jacob's chuck with my expanding mandrels... it works, but it can be treacherous. Now I have a safe(er) way that practically eliminates runout. PSI has excellent products that I normally purchase direct, but Amazon beats their price by $20, and the free shipping knocks off another $10. There are only two readily available comparable systems, each of which is substantially more expensive with, seemingly, no advantages over this one. The range of sizes is perfect for me, but one could expand his or her collection by simply buying more ER-32 collets, should one desire to do so. I simply cannot recommend this enough... if I had two lathes, I would have bought two. It comes in a nice red (at least mine did) blow-molded case, with retaining slots for each individual part; I probably won't use it much, but plenty of people prefer a nice case for their tools. Lastly, it takes up a fairly small footprint, which is great for small lathes with limited distance between centers. The only regret I have is that I did not buy this sooner.
