For the money i would expect no scratches in paint. Otherwise its a great rendition of the Captain American Shield. Thanks to Amazon great return policy im replacing it now. Will order another oneLove this! It is obviously not real vibranium but it is an excellent replica!Bought for my husband's birthday/Halloween costume. He loved it!!! Excellent purchase, highly recommendIt is made of plastic so if you goof around with it will break. Great detail and design which is perfect for wall hangar, costume or cosplay.Well for starters, when you unwrap it and hold it for the first time it's a amazing moment. unfortunately my first initial unwrapping wasn't the best because my shield had a huge dent on it like it took a fall before it was wrapped, and scratches all around the edge. It's indeed metal, i suspect aluminum so you dont want to go hitting anything with this..it'll get dings easily, that being said it looks the part. (I want to add that they replaced my order within 2 days)the paint job is decent, on both shields the blue paint wasn't as pristine as the red, and it bled over and in some areas it could've used a bit more. I plan to do some touchups myself.. to make it my own.on the underside, the leather straps are of pretty good quality, the buckles make me nervous though. Instead of being a metal or brass, it's hard plastic...all of them.. I dont know how this will endure when being held or posed for several hours, It could be fine, but I suspect over time they will fail, the shield is pretty heavy.. Keep this in mind when you purchase the shield, you may want to swap out those brackets, and potentially see if someone can fabricate the 4 plastic pieces that are screwed into the shield itself (theyre easy to spot, it's where all the leather straps attach to one another. it's a piece of plastic with two slots for the leather straps and a hole for the screw to be inserted). they move so i can see wear and tear happening with multiple wears.there's also 4 umm idont know what to call them little half loops they rattle on the back of the shield during movement, I have an idea to alleviate this.. taking a thin glue stick and hollowing it out, cutting one side and placing them on the half loops to prevent the rattle. I saw someone make a post about using tape.. either way you'd want to probably figure something out if you plan on wearing it.Everything was great. Be aware that the buckles are plastic, not metal.If you are looking for a perfect full-size metal replica direct from the movie this is probably not for you. If you are looking for really close replica for use in Man cave decoration, this is perfect! Even though it’s plastic it is so well done it does pass for metal. The only real knock I have is that the packaging is not great and is likely to be damaged in shipment. I feel I was very lucky that there was no damage.Excellent product. Sturdy and absolutely beautiful. Very impressed.It’s good just the straps are put on the cheap but they’re easy to put back on All in all it’s a good product
