I’ve skated my whole life in one form or another but after being sidelined from hockey I decided to pick up a pair of inline skates to stay active until I can return to the ice.I typically wear a 10.5 men’s dress shoe or 11 in sneakers & have a slightly narrow foot. I bought the 10-11 skates. They’re slightly looser than I prefer but I’m used to wearing ice skates where your toe barely touches the front of the skates. I probably have .5” to 1” of space in the toe box. With such big wheels it takes effort to maneuver do the extra room is not good. The build quality was great for the price & feel like the design & hardware work nice. The only knock would be that the boot flexes more than I’d prefer but that’s to be expected for a plastic construction, especially at this price point. Now, let’s examine how the skates perform. The pot flex makes it a little harder to control at times but they’re still very manageable. I was surprised how fast I could get going with only a few strides. Growing up I had both low profile speed skates & regular recreational one’s; these are a great hybrid of the two. The big wheels help you get up to speed but also prevent tight turns. I haven’t quite got the hang of braking yet but put a lot of the blame to me being out of practice skating on concrete & the wheels being extra grippy since they’re new. The big wheels excelled on bumpy spots & rough patches of pavement. The long frame also requires a longer stride so you’ll need a path wider than your standard side walk. The skates were comfortable enough on my first attempt which included 30 minutes of skating.I wouldn’t recommend for a new skater, but highly recommend them for anyone looking to cover some distance and has decent experience skating. Others might want to pick a more standard frame/wheel configuration to start. I’m sure you could find Beth skates on the market, but it would be hard to at this price point (~$120). Enjoy!
