I kept struggling to join 2" poly pipe together contouring a hillside where there was some stress on the joint. The pvc barbed coupling kept leaking / coming apart. When I went to replace it, I found it deformed from the stress. This steel insert is working much better, allowing the four hose clamps to be really tight.
