Ok to be honest this choice was based on price. However I saw some reviews with african greys and figured I can make it work. If I needed reinforment's I have access to manzanita which will be next. I bought it, my grey loves it the way it is but the top is really shaky. My little design set up is to try and stabilize top. This is supposed to be suitable for a Grey, and mine is even on the small side--something like the 1st percentile in weight for the species--but of course she likes to climb up to the top and that wire is so thin her feet can't close around it. She's balancing up there like a tightrope dancer even after I wound 1/4" rope around it. So I'm going to have to go back and wind more. The cross bar she's meant to perch on is slick, so I wound string around it, too, and that works fine now. The swing will need more string, I expect, but she hasn't used it yet so I don't know. She does love all the toys I can hang on this one, although it's been challenging finding some that are short enough and yet tough enough for a Grey, so that's a plus!It was easy to put together, taking about two hours spread over two evenings. Everything fit for a wonder: Kudos to the manufacturer for that! And the instructions aren't bad, as these things go--just one glitch, easily corrected. It feels wibbldy-wobbldy, though, and really doesn't have a good stable place to grab hold of it to move it, but I think that is only going to be an issue if you try to put a macaw on it, which of course you are not going to do, amirite? I would not try to move it with a flightless bird on it, which I had hoped to be able to do. Too much risk of it tipping with them and them falling.I had to put wood-and-rope ladders on the wire ladders to give her decent footing, as recommended by another reviewer. And, as others have noted, the dishes are perfectly placed poop-catchers. So I tend not to use them until she's been on the gym for a while and is likely to be hungry/thirsty and come down to eat/drink. Then I will pick them up again. These two issues I expected, so no biggie.I bought it for my study. I began working at home with the pandemic and like it this way so it looks to be a permanent arrangement. It's a part-time job, but still. The bird has been spending 20 hours a week back here with me on a boring, plain-vanilla roll-around perch. I wanted her to have something she could climb around on, something that would be stimulating, entertaining. I wanted habitat enrichment! And this works for all of that except the climbing: I literally am going to have to wrap every inch of it in rope to give her footing. For the money, though, it is a good-quality piece. It fits in a small house/room. And it is growing on her. Yesterday she refused to even come back to work after lunch because she thought I was going to put her on it: This was highly unusual because normally she fusses at me if I'm running late. Today I let her climb across in her own time, which she eventually did. For a small bird, especially one that could fly from one perch to another (which she can't, as she's an inveterate plucker), it would be perfect.Exactly what it says it is. Read the description, takes up a good chunk of space.I needed a play stand that could easily move around. The assembly instructions are awesome! Very easy to assemble. No problems by myself and I’m usually sweet talking my husband into doing these things. Georgie loves it! The seed guards are cheap and sometimes she sits in just the right spot and poops through the cracks. It’s not really the easiest to clean. But overall I give it 4/5 because it’s made our lives better. We have 3 Conures, a Cockatiel, and an African Grey and they seem to enjoy it. There are tons of loops to hang toys from to keep them entertained. Assembly was fairly painless and it rolls really smooth on carpet or hardwood floors. It's really light, which is nice for us since we can carry it upstairs and downstairs and the birds can stay with us in whatever room we're in. The tray and gaurds around the bottom make it easy to keep the floors clean, since it catches all the bird poop and seeds. Our Conures and African Grey are suuuper messy so that's saying a lot ? I will say that it's not super durable, and the metal bends fairly easily. It doesn't feel rickity though, so I'm not worried about anything falling or breaking while our birds are playing. The gaurds around the edge are also screwed in so it's not quick and easy to take them off and clean them. Other than that, it's definitely served it's purpose for us!I was tempted to give this a 4 star because of the design defects.....but I did a lot of research before purchasing a new stand this really is probably the best play stand for my maroon bellied conure so in the end I WOULD RECOMMEND IT TO A FRIEND and we've found fixes for the problems.Pros: The size is really great and gives Mango a good amount of exercise getting up and down and around between food and toys and perches. It has tons of places to hang toys, so be prepared with lots of fun things that your bird can chew and swing on and play with, and even more things to switch out and around every month. You don't get that kind of stimulation and variety with those super-expensive wooden stands. It's metal, so it's sturdy and easy-to-clean (which the pull-out drawer is great for) and we switch out the newspaper bottom covering every few days. We have this play stand right next to our work desks (that my fiancé and I spend the majority of our home-time at) and this allows us to have Mango nearby and he's happy to hang out and watch us or fiddle around with his toys and he gets the mental health benefits of being out of his cage and seeing new things. However, here are some defects and how we fixed them: 1) Birds like to be as high as possible, so of course Mango climbed to the very top rung where the toys hang from and hangs out there nibbling on things - but that bar is so thin and smooth that we had to wrap it in jute rope to make it more grippable and it worked fine. 2) The dishes are placed well to contain the bird-eating-frenzy-mess but are also directly below the poop zone - so we had to tape some newspaper kind of like a roof for them on the middle bars. 3) The food bowls that come with it do not fit in their holders and the steel bowls have begun to crack...it's weird. I've never seen anything like that happen before, and we haven't figured out how to fix it yet...but I assume we can either complain to the company or get different bowls at a pet supplies store.TLDR; Perfect size for a maroon bellied conure, lots of spots to hang toys for stimulation, a play stand is NECESSARY for healthy, happy birds, and there are some defects but you can easily work around those. The instructions were straight forward the final product is nice.... but...This was the most frustrating thing to build/assemble..The holes wouldn't line up on several parts, the pre drilled holes weren't fully drilled so i had to use a screwdriver to try to push the holes open. As well as the dowel perch was severely splintered and damaged. Lastly some parts were a few mm too big so i had to almost hammer them into place because they wouldn't fit properly. All in all it looks nice now that i have it assembled and fixed. If i would have known it would be this poorly made i most certainly wouldn't have ordered it.Overall a good stand for your feathered friend. Bowls could be placed better, as they're right in the line of fire for poops. However, some other reviews have recommended ways to re-place the bowls for less poop action. This stand is made of good quality material and will likely last forever. It is also NOT EASY to put together. I think the instructions recommend two people do it, and that is a recommendation I would certainly take. Some of the pieces need to be held at an exact certain angle in order to be screwed together and that's why you need the second person. I did it alone and it took almost two hours, but my bird liked it immediately (and if you're a bird person, you know how rare that can be). Overall worth the buy though. With peace and love, JPASC.Exactly what I was looking for. I have a proper cage for my green cheek, but I wanted another spot for her to perch and eat at in my living room. This way I don't keep moving the cage around. She absolutely loves it and uses it. My only issue is that the bowls it comes with are quite wide for her, but she manages to find a way to eat anyways. You can see in the picture that she needs to stand on the metal ledge instead of the wooden perch. I feel the size of this structure would be better for a sun conure or larger parrot, and it's slightly on the big side for a green cheek, budgie or cockatiel. My Quaker was trying to play on this set up WHILE I was building it lol, he loves it. I left the wheels off of it because they do not have stoppers for safety. I also left the seed guard off because he wont be eating meals on the play stand ( food bowls are now toy holders), and the seed guard takes up a lot of extra width. Easy to assemble, instructions were straight forward. I will be twinning some of the metal perch spaces with cotton or jute to make it easier on his feet in the long run. This is the most pain in the butt thing to build.. u will definitely want help building it. Besides that my bird loves it, there's a lot of places to hang his toys and I love the storage area underneath. Only knocked off one star due to how ridiculously hard it was to build and because some of the metal was slightly bent.
