There you go consumers, some very good photos for you to work with. Wouldn't it be nice if everybody took great photos? Or, photos not only of damage to their products? Or, if those (and you know who you are) certain individuals would stop giving out 1 & 2-star reviews based solely upon shipping and/or things that have absolutely nothing to do with the product itself? That would be great. There should be a reviewers study guide & test... Alas, we all know how things have worked out with driver licensing tests - Licenses popping straight out of a box of Cracker Jacks and onto the road with the rest of us, that's how!Anyway! I am 6'2" & 200lbs at present, with 15lbs of fat where muscle should be. Boot size ordered is 11. I wear a size 11 in Converse low tops. 11 in Adidas. So they're very much true to size. But keep in mind that a stupid huge % of ppl wear the wrong size. You may just need a wide.I'm on my feet for 10 hours or so per day, concrete floors usually. For the first week, my feet would hurt after 4 hours. I would sit on breaks whenever possible to renew them for a while longer - BUT - I had also been lying around doing jack while on unenjoyment for like 7 months catching up on all kinds of episodes. Also, my feet are super duper Harry Potter redikulus boggart style arched. Basically, I walk on 3 points - Inside big ball point, outside small ball point, and the heel. So, ouch, after a while. We's be needin cushy insoles. But! It's been 3 weeks now and I don't get the same pain as I did previously, as my feet are becoming accustomed to A, walking/standing first & foremost lol, and B, these chelsea boots. I'm at the point now where it feels like Heaven to take them off at the end of the day, but I am not itching to get out of them. For me, they're work boots. Not metrosexual roll up your skinny jeans hipster, although they work well for you people as well. They slip on quite firmly and snugly, and they don't move around on you if you know how to accurately size your foot/boot. They're surprisingly light! And they're very attractive. I recommend some mink wax to maintain them. When you first put them on, they feel comfy. They get more comfy over time - duh. After a couple of weeks of break-in, I began to notice that they really are comfortable. More cushiony feeling. I can't yet speak to what they'll be like in 6 months, obvi, but my gut tells me that they'll be just fine. When I kneel, I rarely bend my feet at the toes. That is just asking for eventual breakage, especially if the weather is cold. So, you know who reviewers, don't complain and give Doc a 1-star and mislead ppl because you can't operate a pair of boots. Let alone a vehicle. Yes, you! You who turns right into the far left and left into the far right, screwing everything up for everybody and then getting bent with anger when I audaciously turn into my own lane while staring at you to ensure you're staying put! Where you're supposed to be. Honnnnnnk. STAY. Out of my lane Mr Van man! Okay yeah, well that's like 75% of you. Ugh. Hell in a handbasket I tell ya!These also work great for non-slip, at least on concrete. Pretty sure McD's oil might be a different story and you should look into Shoes for Crews or something.Major con for me - For the first time in more than a decade, stinky feet. They do not breathe. I wish Dr. Martin would throw in a couple of air holes on the inside centers like Converse always has. I am considering riveting them myself with a pair of silver rings. That said, there are a couple of helpful solutions to this issue that contorts your face.1. Boot powder. Pour into boot in the evening and step on in, in the am. It acts like lotion, muxing and absorbing. It moisturizes and kills bacteria as well. You'll be amazed by how great your toe nails look. No more dryness.2. Lotion your feet fully after showering and then sock/boot-up. Stinkiness gone.3. As long as you keep your feets clean, investing in mousture-wicking socks is also a solution. I'm talking high quality socks ya'll, mountaineering/ hiking/working socks, medium to light weight cushion. Darn Tough Socks, for example. Made in Vermont. $25 to $30ea but they have a lifetime warranty. They're THAT GOOD. Wear them all day and then sniff your foot and holy stuff - nada! I recently invested in a 12-pack of black Dickies crew socks. Aside from the new sock black fuzz all over my first time use feet, they're great. And $25 or so.Keep it up Doc! Lifetime buyer since 1995.Oh and I've received compliments from 3 ppl. "Are those Doc Martins???" 'Why yes they are." "I could tell by the stitching!" Uh huh... there is literally no other way to tell besides the rubber soles paired with the stitching. And I love how these soles don't extend outwards! They go straight down in low profile.I hope this helped! I know I rambled, sorry about that. Thanks for reading! These are so comfortable straight out of the box! I expected to have to break them in a bit but nope. If you’re looking for a classic Chelsea boot ladies (or gents of course) these are the best price I’ve found. They go with lots of things, especially to give an update to your skinny jeans and leggings. I bought my regular size and found that to be perfect. There’s plenty of room to include a medium weight sock without being too loose. There’s a nice amount of give to the elastic goring, making these easy on and off. If you’ve ever had boots where the goring was too tight, you will appreciate that. Looking forward to wearing these with tights and long skirts this winter. So in my reviews research, I read that some girls like to wear this for riding their motorcycle. Bought it specifically for intro riding class only to be told it's not appropriate because of the elastic part. Doh! I was bummed buuuuut I decided to keep them because they actually look pretty nice with jeans. It's one of the few boots that fit over my chubby ankles. Getting it on and off is a little difficult but doable. Maybe it'll get easier with more usage. I also like the fact that there's no lace to fuss with. It's not painful for short walks so far. I'm normally a wide 7.5. I sized down to a 7, not up. There's a little space in front of the toes but I think with socks there's no problem.I bought these to wear around my horses whenever I’m not in my cowboy boots. Holy support! Got them yesterday and already put them to work. They’re so comfortable (all my doc martens are) and I hope they last as long as my other pairs have! I fractured my right foot so it’s slightly bigger than my left, so I ordered my normal size. If I didn’t have a busted foot, a size down would have been perfect since this brand does run a size larger. Anyways, buy these boots! You won’t be sorry. These are comfortable for boots. These are easy to put on. These look amazing. I wear mine for riding my motorcycle. Jeans covering them so they are not flashy but if you know, you know. Timeless and when worn right any aged person will look good. Was purchased for a hard to fit gift. They were perfect and fit exactly as advertised. They are very compfortable right out of the box. They run a little big but with a thicker sock they’re fine.I absolutely loved this boot it was so perfect, however due to my unproportionable anatomy (fat ankles) I had to return them. They were really tight around my ankles but my ankles are severely wide. People with regular sized ankles would love these.I bought these for daily use and after a week I noticed water seeping into the shoes. I raised a complaint with Amazon and they redirected me to softmoc (the seller). They asked me to return the shoes at a store and the store did not accept the return saying it was used.Apparently their return policy is that the shoe must be in unworn condition even for manufacturing defects. How on earth is someone supposed to know about manufacturing defects without using the shoes ?All in all, I lost hard earned money on these shoes. And I’m still running pillar to post between Amazon, softmoc and dr martens to try and replace these or at least get them repaired!I would suggest trying alternatives which are much more durable and much safer than these !I was hesitant to order these as they seemed relatively cheap for Dr. Martens but I’m glad I took the chance. They look great and fit how I expected them too. Very pleased with this find at $70 less than most retailers. So happy with these! They had been in my cart for a while, and I’m so glad I decided to purchase the. I will get much wear out of them. They are stylish but so very practical! They will be my go to weekend boots;from muddy soccer fields to the backyard BBQ’s. I would say they run on the larger size as I ordered an 8 In women’s (I’m normally a 7 1/2 to 8) but I prob could have done a women’s 7. I figure I can now wear thicker socks for winter and I’ll be buying an insole for the thinner sock season. Still very comfortable! These are my favorite pair of shoes to wear. Comfort level is off the charts.Buy your regular size....you will have a bit of space for the colder weather when you wear thicker socks.I sent back they were not what I expected. They would however be suitable for the person that would like a heavy masculine boot. They were very stiff but also looked very well made. Be careful with the free returns...they were only free to return if you had a store in your area to return them to.
