The Walnut and Black Memorial Chest Urn by Howard Miller is a handsome cremation urn that opens at the top and is lockable. Families appreciate the finish work on this urn which combines a rich walnut wood lid and base with a black piano finish on the chest itself. The urn is made of select solid and wood veneers. The box shape of the Walnut and Black Memorial Chest Urn is slightly curved on the sides for a softer design. The interior of the chest is lined with felt. The lock and key are in a polished brass finish for that added touch of elegance.An option on this urn is the brass insert. Ashes can be placed inside the brass insert and then set inside the chest. Documents or other mementos also can be placed inside the chest. The capacity of the insert is 210 cubic inches (would accommodate the ashes of a person who weighed 210 lbs. or less prior to cremation), and the capacity of the chest is 275 cubic inches. The brass urn insert is not required.
