It’s hot in Texas. We’re all trying not to die down here. The power company is constantly warning that the whole grid might fail. It’s 110-115 Fahrenheit. Our houses are NOT made for this. Our HVAC is NOT made for this. So I bought a roll of this and I put it on every window. It worked so well, I immediately bought another roll. One layer cuts down the heat but still lets in a little light. Four layers turns a WINDOW into a WALL. Unfortunately, that’s where were at these days. I have three massive HVAC systems in my house. They’re all well-maintained and running the best they can. Dropping the temp 40°? I don’t think they make HVAC for that. So it’s nice to be able to help the HVAC by cutting down the heat getting into the house. I covered every window With four layers. It was immediately cooler. Even as we were putting it in the window so we could feel the temperature drop in the room.Insulation in attic dealer was greatI installed this on the ceiling of my new lofted barn which gets really hot on sunny days. I cut the lengths needed and attached using a staple gun with 3/8" staples. The insulation was easy to handle and I was able to install it without any problems. The roll was 48" × 100' just as stated in the description and with a 3" gap between ceiling and insulation the temperature dropped by about 10 degrees.Product was pretty easy to install till you find out at the end of your 12' run your an inch and a half off..... well that's because the rolls you just glued to your metal garage are only 47.5" , the next roll I measured before I opened it was 47.75" wide. Also somehow there was a 9" gash in the middle of the roll that went through 3 layers.... good options for insulation but measure your rolls and plan accordingly. Some rolls had silver side out which was great to roll out and cut some had white side out which was a bugger to unroll the roll to cut ..... it's kinda like putting toilet paper on the wrong direction.I did some research, as I needed to insulate the floor, of an on the insulated outbuilding - "Shed" - that I am using for an office. The current floor is just plywood on top of 2 x 4 beams, and then I had a rubber mat and carpeting, and while I insulated the walls and ceiling the flooring was very cold. Since it wasn't very easy for me to get underneath the structure and insulate from there I looked into the double bubble reflective foil here as a solution. The box came quickly, with the product in a roll, I laid it down and cut to size, and immediately noticed an improved warmth on the side I placed this reflective foil. I even reached out to the seller, and they graciously helped confirm the best methodology, which was the reflective side down. I plan to finish the rest of the insulation this weekend, as there is the significant improvement in the half that is already covered. This will not only save me heating energy, but also my Saturday, as my feet will no longer freeze. This is a quality product, I’m using it in a metal carport building that has been converted into an off-grid cabin. It’s being installed in the ceiling area only with about an 1 1/2” air space between the metal roof and the reflective side of the product. You can definitely tell the difference with increased warmth and heat retention, since this has been installed, the wood burning stove is using less wood and the building stays warmer for a longer time. It’s an easy product to use and and holds up to all types of abuse, I’m using a white duct tape to adhere and seal the seams of the overlapped pieces, and it holds up quite well, even when you need to peel off and reapply the tape. My biggest complaint is I ordered a 100’ roll, and there was only 80’ of product, I didn’t measure the roll when it first arrived and didn’t realize the error until I was nearly done. I would suggest checking the length when it first arrives. This is a great product. Easy to use and cut. Long and wide so covers a large area fast. I used it as a vapor barrier between my crawl space and the wood framing of the floor above. Taped the edges with aluminum tape. Installed a radon pump at the same time (in the sand below with a poly sheet over the sand). My radon went from 28 picu/liter to an average of 0.5 above crawl space. So it must’ve worked great to to keep the upper air isolated.Amazon said I should mention “warmth” and “adhesion”. However, I did not use this as a temperature barrier nor does this product have any adhesive on it. So there ya have it.lite weight and easy to use a great reflective product
