Description

Celebrated as the second style by Dr. Martens, the 1461 features 3 eyes, grooved soles, iconic yellow stitching and original leather. This low-top shoe stands out in a crowd, amplifying every unique look. Built to last, it’s forged using one of the finest methods of construction: utilizing a Goodyear welt and heat-sealing it to the sole. The 1461 is made with highly durable leather and sits on an AirWair sole, which is oil and fat resistant with good abrasion and slip resistance. Use Dr. Martens Wonder Balsam to protect the leather and keep your boots clean, soft and supple.

The first pair I got might have been inauthentic, sold by NetRush, for a handful of reasons.1. I bought it new and it came in an Amazon shoe box, no tags or stickers on the shoe.2. The tag is an ironed on with what seems to be a white vinyl transfer that says Made in China. The real ones seem to have the tag stamped on the tongue, Made in Vietnam. Although I cannot speculate the official location of non-made in England Docs; It’s safe to say that I’ve never encountered a white printed on tag before, and these next few points will hopefully persuade you to legit check your shoes before wearing them out.3. The moulding of the sole seems to have all these circle injection marks, which I haven’t seen on any of my previous docs, plus the grid pattern in the outsole is tighter on the authentic. I compared them with my 1460 boots, and the pattern on the authentic ones match it more similarly, and I bought the boots directly from a Dr. Marten’s store 4. The stamp on the insole is larger in the authentic. This really might vary on shoe sizes, but from my research it seems that the stamp goes edge to edge along the dotted insole.I cannot say for certain if the first ones I received were inauthentic or not. But to prevent this from happening to you, make sure the seller Amazon is fulfilling from is an verified Dr. Marten’s dealer. The authentic pair I got was from Tilly’s and I know for a fact they are a certified DM’s dealer. Docs are a worthwhile investment that should last you years, so make sure what you’re getting is the real deal!Hope this helps!Love the classic and accurate design. Love the quality. Love the brand. Bit overpriced for my lifestyle and age and income. ❤️I initally ordered my regular size in womens. and they were far too large. However just from trying them on, I knew, and could feel the comfort.Exchanged them for a full size smaller than my usual and I could not be happier. If you're on your feet all day and VALUE your feet and what they do for your body, GET these shoes, STAT..Great!Those shoes were for my son, he always wears 8 US size but this Docs are bigger than other 8 US size shoes.7 US would have fitted perfectly. Anyway, the shoes are great, they match with almost everything and are very nice looking shoes. The sizing can be confusing. When the sizing is correct, these shoes are great. Very stylish with black fitted pants.I ordered the size 6 and was afraid it would be a bit short. It is just right even though my foot sometimes requires a 6.5. Still not sure if I really need these, but in trying them on they seem very comfortable. I will need to wear a pretty heavy sock with them as the back of the shoe where the heal/ankle contacts it seems sharp and a bit rough. They are heavy shoes. I understand this type of shoe is good for walking on cobblestones. I am trying to decide if travel with such a heavy shoe is wise or really necessary This item was made in Bangladesh. I was hoping it was made in the UK. One review said the Dr. M.'s made in Bangladesh fell apart rather quickly. I don't know about that now. After three weeks and a box of band aids, the super stiff leather started to flex. Now they feel great and they look awesome on me, paired with boring slacks they make you really stand out. The initial pain was worth how they make me look.I am on my feet all day, so bought these because of the reputation of being the ultimate work shoe, expecting a comfortable and long-lasting item. They certainly were comfortable, but it appears that quality has dropped markedly since my previous pair (in the1980s!) which lasted several years. Within 8 weeks the sole started to split along the line between dark and light (see photos). Fair play to Amazon: no quibble refund. Search online and you will find this is by no means an isolated issue. These are not cheap shoes and certainly do not live up to the Dr Martens reputation. I am now looking for an alternative. It said the colour was Cherry Red but I'd have described it as Antiqued Brown. Nice though, otherwise they are DM'sVery comfy,.. & nice fit !!..as expected thanxGood shoes.I've had many pairs of Docs over the years, but these are the best! The leather is soft and comfortable straight from the box. No need to break these in! I got the last pair of size 14's so am gutted I can't get another to keep in the wardrobe!
