We finally ditched our old rice cooker and purchased Zojirushi IH rice cooker after some research. I never liked the design of rice cookers available in the US, and planned to buy a rice cooker while visiting Japan, but gave up on a thought of carrying a big and heavy box onto a plane as a carry on (I was traveling alone and had a huge suit case already). Then I found this Zojirushi rice cooker being shipped from Japan. I was first sold on its chic design, but it is not just the design. I love how it cooks really tasty, fluffy, yet firm rice! It is yummy even when it's cooled down. It is a stark difference from the 13-14 year old 3 cup rice cooker we owned previously (quite shocking it lasted that long, but it's Japan made after all). Ok, maybe it's not fair to compare this to the old beaten-up rice cooker, but I'm regretting why I didn't make the change a lot sooner. So far it's working fine even with the different voltage here in the US.
