Description

Innovation and tradition share equally deep roots at SCARPA, a muti-generational, family-owned business whose headquarters and manufacturing facilities are in the same region of northern Italy where it was founded in 1938. SCARPA builds performance footwear for climbing, hiking, skiing, mountaineering, trail-running and other outdoor pursuits. Aside from being the Italian word for "shoe," SCARPA is an acronym for Societa Calzaturiera Asolana Riunita Pedemontana Anonima (Associated Shoe Manufacturing Company of the Asolo Mountain Area).

I've worn Evolv Defys, 5.10 Arrowheads, and Scarpa Booster S's before buying this shoe. The Furias are by far and away my favorite shoe of the bunch. I always feel so confident in my feet and it feels like the sensitivity allows me to weight my feet far better than with the other shoes. For me, it was an amazing performance shoe while at the same time being very comfortable. That said, the shoes didn't last me very long at all. I blew a hole through the toe in a month (picture attached) (see edit for revision). I really want to buy another pair but I can't afford to spend $180 on Furias every month so I think I'm going to switch to a different shoe. I might just keep a pair handy for when I really need a send in the future.Overall I still feel like I have to give these shoes 5 stars. For me, they were really great shoes and even though they didn't last very long, I'm still considering buying another pair.Sizing information:5.10 Arrowhead: 42.5Scarpa Booster S: 42Scarpa Furia: 41.5EDIT: I've purchased another pair of these and they're going on 3 months. Either my footwork has gotten better or I've taken better care of them - not sure. Either way I'm super happy with how long they've lasted this time.Bought these shoes in 38.5 to basically just to try them. The rubber is super sticky and is very sensitive compared to the other shoes scarpa has made.I dont think i am a fan of sensitive shoes, but that doesnt affect how i think of them. Its a great shoe if u like this type, soft and sensitive.I would have given the furia 5 starts but i dont think it will fit everyones foot. I buy scarpa climbing shoes because they fit my wider feet perfectly. The furias however are a much slimmer shoe. If u have long toes u may be able to make them work. In my case my big toe barely touches the tip, my small toe gets jammed on the side.I wear the instinct vs and boostics in 38.5 (aggressive) and the booster s in 39 (semi aggressive).I'm used to climbing in really aggressive bouldering shoes like La Sportiva Solutions/Geniuses or Five Ten Dragons and they are great in their own way but cannot touch the Furia's sensitivity. If you climb any sort of slab problem or anything that requires precise footing these shoes are great. They are crazy sensitive and feel like a rubber sock! I climb in the V8 and V9 range and these have become my go to shoe. For size reference:- I'm a 41 in the Furia- I'm a 43 in Five Ten Dragons- I'm a 39 1/2 in Solutions/Geniuses- I'm typically a 9 1/2 in normal street shoes.Great shoes. I wear 45.5 street size and 45.0 fits perfectly. Scarpa always sizes near the street size. Dont buy it smaller! To get an idea on LA sportiva I have 43.5.Other than size, very precise and soft shoe. Maybe not as great in heel hooks as I expected but fantastic feeling and fit. Better than the Boostics I had beforeGreat shoe but too small... Next time I would order a full size bigger. Wear a very right vs in 41.5 but would order these again in 42.5This is by far the most precise and sensitive climbing shoe I've ever had. They've held up well with use, but they will requiring resoling a little more often due to the thinness of the rubber. These are the best climbing shoes I have ever used. They make things about a quarter to half grade easier than my instinct vs shoes.Didn't like the heel cup. Also lacking in pro rubber.
